Taking your fishing pole with you on a plane or car
trip can be a hassle. That's where a travel fishing rod can come in handy.
These travel fishing rods come in various price ranges, based on quality and
brand.
There are several things to keep in mind when buying
a travel fishing rod.
Transport Length
- Most travel fishing rods are between 1.5 and 3 feet. So make sure you
determine how compact of a pole you need
Recommened Line Strength - You can get
a variety of fishing line strengths. Just make sure you choose the proper
pound based on the type of fishing you are doing. Most poles come without
the line and reel, not as combos, so when you do buy a pole, make sure you
purchase the reel and line if necessary.
Pole Power - You also need to determine how
heavy or light of a pole you need. The stronger/heavier the fish, the more
powerful pole you'll need.
Price - You can spend
anywhere between $15 and over $100 on a travel fishing rod.
Below are several sites where you can purchase
travel fishing rods. The links to the appropriate pages are below.
Amazon's
- Travel Fishing Rods - not a huge variety of
poles and they tend to be the less expensive variety
BassPro's Travel Fishing Rods - Fairly good selection and there are
many reviews, but the product specs aren't detailed enough for my liking.
P&S Travel
Fishing Rods - I love the selection of poles and product specifics.
You can get transport length, line strength and pole power for every travel
fishing pole listed. I had a hard time finding this on other site.
